I have never used stainless steel cookware and was a little nervous about switching, all I have ever used was non-stick. I bought a Paula Dean set on Black Friday and it lasted me 2 years then the coating started to come off! After some researching I wanted a set of cookware I wouldn't have to worry about switching for the next 20+ years which lead me to pursue stainless steel. It took me a month of everyday researching to finally decide. I wanted quality, quantity, longevity, and durable pots. In this day and age it's a little harder to do, since everything seems to be getting thinner and cheaper and most of it comes from china. I believe these stated they were made in México. Also I can't afford to spend 1,000+ on ALL CLAD stainless steel. I loved that fact that these had copper bottoms which normally cost A LOT more. If you are of an elder generation you might say the lids are a little thin, and I can agree with you in that regard. However, we will never likely see very thick piece without paying a very thick price for those pieces. All in all I am VERY satisfied with my purchase, despite the lack of reviews. I also additionally bought the 12qt stock pot and the large skillet.
A BUYERS NOTE: As long as you use a non-stick spay you will NEVER have a sticking issue. Also, if you plan on purchasing this set and you want to keep the set looking tip-top shape prepare to buy copper polish and barkeepers friend, which can be found in the cleaning and detergent isles, because once you cook with these the copper gets darker and may have marks, same with the stainless steel, they develop some spotting ( I freaked out when this happened at first, but the copper polish took it right off! same with the bar keepers friend for the stainless steel portion.) Read and follow the directions on how to take care of these pots and pans and you will not have issues. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR COOKWARE HUNTING! (if you want to feel these pots out, Shopko has a display of them.)
