We offer a variety of hourly opportunities in our stores, including cashier, freight processor, apparel salesfloor, general merchandise salesfloor and service desk specialist. Store Management
Apparel Manager

Apparel Managers provide excellent Customer Service and possess advanced working knowledge of the apparel retail industry. The ability to analyze and solve problems allows them to direct and manage a diverse team in our customer service-driven retail environment.

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of two years apparel merchandising and management experience in either a "big box" or "specialty" retailer. A 4-year degree is strongly desired and, as a regional retailer operating in 15 states, the ability to relocate is also strongly desired.

Customer Service Manager

The Customer Service Manager is the primary exempt leader of our front end team which includes cashiers, service desk and cash office. In addition, they are the principal gatekeeper for the store's pricing integrity and will manage the price accuracy specialists and supervisor. The Customer Service Manager is responsible for recruiting, hiring, coaching/developing, disciplining, scheduling and motivating the Customer Service Team to deliver a shopping experience that exceeds our customers' expectations and ensures all corporate objectives are met. In addition, the Customer Service Manager oversees the store's HR processes and works with the other exempt managers to ensure all policies and procedures are followed in a timely and efficient manner to enhance the teammate experience. In smaller stores, the Customer Service Manager will manage the day to day operations of the Apparel Department.

Qualified candidates will possess either a relevant 4-year college degree or at least two years of leadership experience in a retail environment; must demonstrate the ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast paced and dynamic environment; experience with coaching and developing teammates, front end operations, and successfully handling multiple priorities. Preferred candidates will have the ability to relocate, if necessary.

General Merchandise Manager

In our lower volume stores, our General Managers have the combined responsibilities of the larger stores' General Merchandise (GM) Salesfloor and Product Process Managers. They will manage both the daily operations of the Freight team and the Presentation and Salesfloor teammates. This will include selecting and hiring, coaching and training teammates who will be maintain product knowledge, enhance the customer experience by suggestive selling and providing excellent service, and meet operational objectives.

Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year degree or equivalent experience and a working knowledge of merchandising standards. In addition, they must be able to multi-task, lead and motivate a diverse teammate population to drive sales, and demonstrate the ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast paced environment. Preferred candidates will have the ability to relocate, if needed.

ShopKo is looking for our next leaders. Qualified candidates will participate in our General Merchandise Manager In-Training program, a 4-6 week comprehensive training and development program designed to prepare them for today's retail challenges and those of an ever-changing industry.
Our future General Merchandise Managers receive hands-on, in-depth training on leadership, management skills, store operations and the technology we use to make our jobs easier.

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of three years retail management experience. A 4-year degree is strongly desired and, as a regional retailer operating in 15 states, the ability to relocate is also strongly desired.

General Merchandise Salesfloor Manager

In our higher volume stores, our General Merchandise (GM) Salesfloor Managers direct the day-to-day operations of our GM salesfloor departments (Home, Hardlines, Health & Beauty, Lawn & garden, Home Entertainment, Food & Candy, and Household Supply) placing an emphasis on driving sales and creating/developing a selling and customer centric team. In addition to selecting and hiring teammates, they will be responsible for driving top line sales through training and coaching teammates on techniques to improve add-on sales, suggestive selling, product attachment rate of protection plans and maintaining up to date product knowledge to enhance the customer experience. To drive sales, GM Salesfloor Managers must ensure that merchandising techniques and operational objectives are executed according to our company standards.

Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year degree or equivalent experience and a working knowledge of merchandising standards. Shopko Store Managers are the heart of our stores and the key to the daily operation of our Company. Customer service begins with our Store Managers, who are responsible for motivating and managing their teams.

A store's success is directly tied to its Manager, and it is the Manager who is ultimately accountable for store operations, financial results, shrinkage, customer service, inventory and merchandising.
